2024 Key West Club Membership Fees & FAQ
This year, to keep pace with the increasing costs necessary to operate, maintain, and invest in our facility, the Board voted to raise full-access membership rates (land-use membership rates remain the same). Additionally, to ensure adequate funding for future maintenance and capital projects, the Board voted to streamline our membership categories, bringing them more in line with those of our peer facilities. Thus, we have eliminated the senior categories (senior couple and senior single); going forward, we will simply offer Couple and Single rates, with no age-based distinction. For 2024, returning Senior Couples and Senior Singles will be “grandfathered” into this new plan and asked to pay a “step-up” rate halfway between their former senior category and the new category. This accommodation applies only to the 2024 season and is offered only to those who had active senior memberships in 2023.
We will continue our highly successful Maintenance Fee program, through which all returning members contribute $100 at the beginning of the season, which can be rebated back upon completion of three hours of volunteer work. For more information about the Maintenance Fee program and opportunities to contribute your work, go here. Please note that we define “returning” members to include those who have belonged at any time in the past; “new” members are those who have never belonged to the Club.
We do require all members–new and returning–to complete an application form. If you are applying for a Full-Access membership (pool, tennis/pickleball courts, trails, gardens, & river access), go to the Full-Access Membership Form to submit your application.
If you are applying for a Land-Use membership (no pool/courts—only trails, gardens, & river access), go to the Land-Use Membership form to submit your application.
Be sure to download and read the KWC.Rules before submitting your application form.
After you receive an acknowledgment of your 2024 membership, you can send a check payable to KWC to Key West Club, 393 Key West Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22911. If you would like to pay by credit card, you can do so at the Snack Shack or online here: please be aware that we charge a 2.6% surcharge to cover the cost to the club of the credit card charge.
If you have questions, please ask Claire at clairechantell@gmail.com.

What are the amenities at KWC?
Our 40-acre facility includes two asphalt tennis/pickleball courts, a heated, lifeguarded 25-yard swimming pool with diving well and board, a toddler pool, a large concrete deck and raised wooden deck with lounge chairs and tables, two gas grills, and a sheltered area with restrooms, snack bar, and game tables. Walking trails run through woods alongside the Rivanna River, and there is a river beach from which members can put in kayaks.
Members can enjoy access to the property year round (though the pool closes around Labor Day).
